If
you’re in love with Windows Live Messenger but you still can’t get
along with its interface, it’s probably the time to try aMSN, a software
solution specifically designed to serve as the perfect replacement for
WLM.
aMSN works not only on Windows, but also on Linux and Mac OS X, but the
most important thing is that it successfully replaces the original app
at all chapters.
The interface is the one that doesn’t really rise up to the
expectations, but the bundle of features makes you forget about any
drawback.
Just as expected, you can do the same things as with Windows Live
Messenger, which means you can chat with your WLM contacts but also send
files, play games, view or broadcast images via webcam, send nudges,
set avatar and many more.
Emoticons are still there, so are winks, so you won’t really feel that you’re not using the genuine app.
The options menu includes tons of settings that concern both the look
and aMSN’s behavior, regardless if we’re talking about privacy, logging
or connection.
There’s also a theme support in there, but nothing too special, although
you might get to like the application much faster with some customized
skins.
All in all, aMSN remains one of the best Windows Live Messenger
replacements in the world and since it works so great, we don’t really
see a reason to not giving it a try right now.
What's New in This Release:
· It contains several bugfixes, the most important one being that
nicknames aren’t reset to the one associated with your Passport account
when you connect anymore.
